Character Information:
The movie is pretty different from the book so we are going from the movie canon.
-MOVIE PLOT-
The movie is about a boy named jack that was born on a day so cold he was born with a frozen heart and had to get it replaced with a clock, he is told to never do 3 things, touch the hands of his clock, lose his temper and most importantly do not fall in love
His first time in town he meets a girl and they sing and fall in love, jack goes out to find her and confess
Fun facts
Has a clock for a heart that needs to be maintained (I know this will be changed once I join but it’s just for backstory purposes)
In love with a girl named miss acacia
Has a pet hamster
Can sing
Has an enemy named joe who bullied him
Has a friend named Melies who invented film
A lot of things that would seem weird or bizarre or just normal things in his world, accordion-esk trains, time moving weirdly or odd things happening when getting lost in songs, the moon has an actual face sometimes and other things that no one appears to see or if they do they just don’t care or think much of it.
Personality:
Socially awkward - Jack is slightly socially awkward, when he is talking he will sometimes rush through a sentence or quickly respond to clear something up even if it's minor. This only happens sometimes though and will quickly go away when he gets lost in describing things like thoughts, emotions, memories, ect. When he is done he tends to return to his normal manner of speaking.
Sociable - Jack isn’t the type of person to be scared of talking to people and will keep a conversation going if someone starts one with him. Although he remains fairly reserved about most of his emotions until he feels ok talking to someone (the time it takes to warm up to someone can vary wildly depending on their personality and just general gut feelings and vibes).
Well meaning - Jack is a pretty friendly person, he is not the type to start things with other people without having a good reason. He is pretty forgiving on minor things and won't dwell on them when they’re over (unless they become commonplace). He is friendly but isn’t a big pushover. Jack has learnt to be a friendly person by the people who raised him (he had a pretty good home life).
Curious - Jack tends to spend time wondering about new things and loves to go and find them, new places, new machines, new people. He gets a little distracted by these things sometimes but will quickly get back on track. Sometimes when he is intrigued by a situation he will throw himself into it in the moment. (like when he found out where his first love moved away to he left for that place straight away when he had to flee his home for other reasons).
Emotional - Despite extreme emotions not being good for him he still feels them, typically he doesn't get angry but obviously when people antagonize him or start things he will fight back. He even has a rival in his original world, love is something he holds very close even though it is pretty much guaranteed to kill him. He is always feeling something, even if it isn’t good for his heart.
Anxiety - Jack isn’t immune from feeling anxious or upset, usually when this happens its portrayed to him by the appearance of jack the ripper, even if its just his looming shadow behind him, it’s unknown if anyone else can see these due to the weird nature of his world. Part of the anxiety comes from his school life bully Joe who would get physical with him and let other kids poke around his heart even if that could halt the movement. It has caused a little bit of anxiety regarding his heart. He tends to not care about the rules of not losing his temper when he is really at his breaking point, he also doesn’t care about the rule of falling in love.
